Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a curable resin compsn. capable of forming a coating film esp. excellent in weatherability by incorporating a liq. ultraviolet absorber and/or a liq. light stabilizer into an emulsion of a polymer contg. specific silyl groups.
CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. emulsion of a polymer prepd. by emulsion copolymn. of l-30wt.%. vinyl monomer contg. an alkoxysilyl group of the formula (wherein R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group selected from among l-10C alkyl, aryl, and aralkyl; X1 is a halogen, an alkoxy, hydroxyl, acyloxy, an aminoxy, phenoxy, a thioalkoxy, or amino; and (a) is 0 to 2), 0.1-10wt.% hydrophilic vinyl monomer having a polyoxyethylene chain, and other vinyl monomer is mixed and blended with 0.05-10 pts.wt. at least one member selected from the group consisting of liq. benzotriazole ultraviolet absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers liq. at ordinary temps. to prepare a homogeneous compsn.
