Abstract:
To effectively desulfurize molten pig-iron in a KR (mechanically stirring) desulfurization process, and reduce a cost for desulfurizing the molten pig-iron and slag generation quantity in preliminary treatment.
The desulfurization method for molten pig-iron is characterized by performing KR desulfurization with the use of a preheated desulfurizing agent. The KR desulfurizing apparatus comprises a raw material hopper accommodating the desulfurizing agent, a preheating device consisting of a rotary kiln and a heating burner for preheating the desulfurizing agent coming out from the raw material hopper, and a KR desulfurization vessel into which the preheated desulfurizing agent is added.
