Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detects the fault of a float type level gauge by detecting a change in water level of the level gauge while a pump on the intake side of a water tank is stopped and comparing a delivered flow rate with the level change detected from the water volume in the water tank, and then, detecting the fault of the level gauge when the difference is higher than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A pump 2 installed to a water receiving tank 1 is stopped for a fixed period of time in accordance with a signal from a pump stop circuit 3. The stopping time is measured by means of a time limit circuit 4 when the signal is outputted from the circuit 3 and the water level in an overhead water tank 5 connected to the tank 1 is measured by means of a float type level gauge 6. A water level changing rate measurement circuit 7 computes a change in the water level during the pump stopping time on the basis of signals from the gauge 6 and circuit 4. On the other hand, a water level computing circuit 9 computes the water level in the tank 5 from the flow rate signal of a delivery flow meter 8 provided on the discharge side of the tank 5. A water level comparator circuit 10 compares the outputs of the circuits 9 and 7 with each other and an outside output circuit 11 issues an alarm based on the signal of the circuit 10. Therefore, the fault of the level gauge 6 can be detected.
