To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus which can obtain stable image quality by using a plate in which a development pattern is formed on a magnetic recording roller, and also can achieve variable printing.
The development pattern with magnetic particles (a non-image part) formed can be used as the plate by attaching ink 151 on a part (an image part) where the magnetic particles on the magnetic recording roller 101 are not attached so as to obtain the stable image quality in printing. In addition, the magnetic particles on the magnetic recording roller 101 are eliminated, and a magnetic latent image in response to a new development pattern is formed on the magnetic recording roller 101 to instantaneously form a different development pattern. Therefore, so-called variable printing can be easily achieved.
