To provide a drive control device and method that can improve controllability of a moving speed of a moving member using a motor, and to provide a recording device.
The drive control device includes a CR motor 29 that generates a drive force for moving a carriage 16, magnets 23 that are provided on the carriage 16, and coils 40, 41 that are provided on both end sides of a moving route of the carriage 16 so as to impart a force to the magnets 23 by electromagnetic induction due to a change in distance from the magnets 23. When a spacing between the end of the moving route of the carriage 16 and the carriage 16 becomes relatively large, an attraction force is generated between the magnets 23 and the coils 40, 41. On the other hand, when the spacing between the end of the moving route of the carriage 16 and the carriage 16 becomes relatively small, a repulsive force is generated between the magnets 23 and the coils 40, 41.
