Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful as a heat sensitive recording material, stable to light at a longer wavelength than that of light possessed by a light source such as a fluorescent lamp, having a sufficient color development density of a colored image and good in intact live shelf life (obtained by measuring the densities of a colored part and a ground surface part in color development tests of the heat sensitive recording material after forced preservation under prescribed conditions). SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I (T and V are each H, a halogen, an alkyl or OR<3> ; U is an electron attractive group; R<1> to R<3> are each an alkyl or an aryl ; X<-> is an anion), e.g. a compound represented by formula II. The compound represented by formula I is obtained by diazotizing, e.g. the corresponding aniline (e.g. 2,4-dihexyloxy-5-acetylaniline) with sodium nitrite, nitrosylsulfuric acid, isoamyl nitrile or the like in an acidic solvent. The compound represented by formula I and a coupling agent component as color developing components are contained in a heat sensitive recording layer to afford a heat sensitive recording material. The compound represented by formula I is used in an amount of preferably 0.02-5 g/m<2> , more preferably 0.1-4 g/m<2> in the heat sensitive recording layer.
