Title:
DIGITAL BINOCULARS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004120600
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To display an image obtained by photography by a plurality of image pickup devices to be stereoscopically visible and with high definition.

A pair of images (stereo images) in which difference equivalent to parallax between both eyes is generated are acquired by photographing a light beam made incident via a pair of objective lenses of a pair of digital binoculars by a pair of image pickup device 30A, 30B, geometric difference of image structure equivalent to the parallax between both eyes is recognized and after that, noise reduction processing for reducing difference (for example, difference of random noise superposed on each of a pair of images by the image pickup devices 30A, 30B) except the recognized geometric difference of the image structure is performed for a pair of images stored in memories 46A, 46B via various kinds of compensation. Then, the images after the noise reduction processing are displayed on display devices 34A, 34B. The images displayed on the display devices 34A, 34B are visually inspected (stereoscopically viewed) by a user via an eye lens.
