Title:
DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3800714
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device which can reduce stresses on the parts of a capacitor and the like in a discharge lamp starting circuit without enlarging the circuit and surely start a discharge lamp.
SOLUTION: This device includes a discharge lamp lighting circuit 22 in which a discharge lamp 2 requiring application of a high-voltage pulse, at least during startup, and the high-voltage side winding N2 of a transformer PT for generating high-voltage pulses exist within a closed circuit, with a capacitor C5 connected in parallel with the low-voltage side winding N1 of the transformer PT. In this case, the discharge lamp lighting circuit 22 has an inductor L2 connected in series with the low-voltage side winding N1 of the transformer PT, and a series circuit of the low-voltage side winding N1 of the transformer and the inductor L2 is connected in parallel with the capacitor C5.
