Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine for correcting abnormality of lipid in blood and protecting or decreasing risk of secondary heart attack of patients after cardiac infarction. CONSTITUTION: This medicine for protecting or decreasing risk of secondary heart attack in mammal comprises an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA) reductase (selected from mevalonolactone-based HMG CoA reductase inhibitor such as mevastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin or velostatin and phosphinic acid or phosphine derivative of 3-hydroxylactic acid) and as necessary, ACE inhibitor (representative example: proline derivative such as captopril or enalapril).
