Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dryer and a drying method capable of drying ink, so as to reduce the extent of wrinkles of a medium caused by sticking the ink to the medium, improving the efficiency of a drying work, and handling the medium in an imaging device, without hampering images formed on the medium, after the ink is sticuck to the medium.
SOLUTION: This dryer 200 is to dry fluid on the medium 20, and a waveguide provided with an aperture 206 formed so that the medium 20 can move through it and an electromagnetic energy source 204 formed so as to generate an electric field in the waveguide 202, so that the angle formed between the direction of the electric field and the longitudinal axis of fiber in the medium is more than 10 degrees and not more than 90 degrees are included in it.
