A first glass substrate 1 is formed by layering an electric filed emitting portion 1a comprising emitter and gate layers, a second glass substrate 2 is formed by layering a positive electrode portion 2a formed from fluorescent character display material and transparent electrode portion, and an exhaustion pipe 4 is provided for sucking the inside to vacuum and is formed through the first glass substrate 1. A lead wire 5 is connected with the positive electrode portion 2a via a connection electrode plate 6. The connection electrode plate 6 is connected with the positive electrode portion 2a via a spring material 20, and its conductivity is not damaged even when the exhaust pipe 4 is sealed.
