Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE-SHIELDING WINDOW MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1179787
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide the window material excellent in transparency and handleability.

This window material 2 consists of: a transparent flat glass plate 4 formed in a square shape; a transparent metallic thin film 6 laminated on the whole surface of the transparent flat glass plate 4; and an electrically conductive film 8 that is formed so as to cover the peripheral edge of the glass plate 4 provided with the transparent metallic thin film 6; wherein by this transparent metallic thin film 6 formed on the surface of the transparent flat glass plate 4, a sufficient electromagnetic wave-shielding effect is caused without cutting off visible rays. Also, since the metallic thin film 6 is electrically connected to the conductive thin film 8, when a window frame or casing, to which the window material 2 is to be fitted, is grounded, the metallic thin film 6 is simply grounded through the conductive film 8 by only fitting the window material 2 to the grounded window frame or casing. Thus, the electromagnetic wave-shielding effect due to the metallic thin film 6 can more surely be obtained and the need of particularly grounding the metallic thin film 6 is eliminated, to improve the workability at the time of fitting the window material 2 to the window frame or casing.
