The elevator device is provided with an isolation transformer 6 connected to a power source 1 through a back surface contact of a main contactor 2 connected to the power source 1 for feeding it to a drive electric motor 22; a rectifier 7 connected to a secondary winding wire of the isolation transformer; and a determination part 12 for diagnosing insulation resistance of the power converter and the drive electric motor by connecting one of the rectifier to one end of the power converter 33 through an auxiliary contact element 5-2 of the main contactor, earth-connecting it to the other of the rectifier through detection resistance 9 and measuring a voltage value generated at both ends of the detection resistance.
