To obtain an elevator doorway device capable of clarifying a detection range of a sensor for preventing catching in an elevator door with respect to elevator users by a simple configuration.
The elevator doorway device is provided with doorway forming members 2 provided on both sides of an elevator doorway; a laterally sliding door 3 for opening/closing the doorway; a sensor 5 which irradiates a light beam 5c across the doorway in a position further separated from the laterally sliding door 3 compared to gaps G1 to prevent a foreign matter from being caught in the gaps G1 formed between the doorway forming members 2 and the laterally sliding door 3 during opening operation of the laterally sliding door 3 and detects approach of the foreign matter to the laterally sliding door 3 during the opening operation; and a detection range informing means for informing a region near the doorway of the detection range of the sensor 5 during opening operation of the laterally sliding door 3.
