Abstract:
PURPOSE: To regularly correct and position the screen landing point of electron beam by the thermal deformation of a structure, and improve the image quality.
CONSTITUTION: A linear cathode as electron beam source and a plurality of electrode plates for controlling electron beam are laminated and sealed between a back plate 1 and a screen 26 within a flat glass vessel 10 having a vacuumed inner part, and an effective electron beam 23 is extracted from the linear cathode and controlled to project an image on the screen 26. Such a flat type image display device has a regulating function for detecting the thermal deformations of the electrode and the screen 26, and varying the landing regulating data for the electron beam according to the deformation quantity.
