To provide a general-purpose slot with which many kinds of flash memory cards with different sizes can be connected by one slot.

The general-purpose slot is constituted by providing a slot case which has one insertion hole formed on the front surface of the slot and is sectioned into an upper space and a lower space, a door which opens and closes the insertion hole in the case of insertion and ejection of the flash memory cards, and a spring elastic member for elastically supporting the door. In addition, the general-purpose slot is constituted by including a first insertion guide surface which guides the flash memory cards to the lower space of the slot case, a second insertion guide surface which is placed inside the first insertion guide surface and guides the flash memory cards passed through the first insertion guide surface, and a slide surface which guides the flash memory card to the upper space of the slot case. Furthermore, the general-purpose slot is constituted by including a plurality of insertion guides in which the flash memory cards inserted along the first and second guide surfaces or the slide surface are mounted respectively and a plurality of electrodes having contacts corresponding to pins of the flash memory cards mounted on the plurality of insertion guides.
