To provide a heald capable of reducing warp yarn damage caused by friction even if progressed while making contact with warp yarn, and also an apparatus for producing a fabric having a high weaving property.
This heald 11 is formed with a mail 12 which is an insertion hole for inserting the warp yarn, and has a column-formed supporting shaft 14 installed over to the mail 12 and a cylindrical sleeve 15 circumscribing the supporting shaft 14. Since the sleeve 15 is installed to be rotated by the progress of the contacting warp yarn, as the warp yarn progresses by making contact with the sleeve 15 equipped at the heald 11, the sleeve 15 can rotate by following the progress of the warp yarn. Thereby, even if the warp yarn is progressed while making a contact with the sleeve 15, the friction between the warp yarn and sleeve 15 is hardly formed and it is possible to reduce the damage of the warp yarn by the friction. Therefore, even if a spread yarn, etc., which is easily damaged by the friction, is used as the warp yarn, it is possible to reduce the formation of fluffs of the warp yarn.
