Title:
HEAT TRANSFER INK RIBBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3118194
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high quality image transfer performance even when a printing speed is high by setting the monomer content ratio of an aromatic monomer contained in a copolymer.
SOLUTION: A copolymer containing 10-25% of an aromatic monomer component which has low compatibility with ester wax in the molecule of the copolymer is used in a peelable layer 3. Styrene, vinyl toluene, methyl styrene, xylene, phenol and cumene are used as the aromatic monomer component. In addition, an acrylic monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid or (meth)acrylic ester, and a rubber monomer such as ethylene, butadiene, isoprene or but lene are used as the other monomer component. The preferable other component is the rubber monomer with comparatively higher compatibility with the ester wax. Further, the parts per weight ratio of the ester wax to the copolymer is generally 98:2-70:30. Besides, the stretch of the copolymer as defined by JIS K6301 should preferably be 100% or less.
