To provide a hybridization method utilizing electrostatic transportation, by which discrimination can quickly and easily be performed, and to provide devices therefor.
This hybridization method utilizing electrostatic transportation is characterized by covering an electrostatic transportation electrode plate 102 with a chemically inactive liquid, arranging liquid droplets 106 containing a known single strand DNA and a fluorescent reagent in an array-like shape on the covered plate, electrostatically transferring liquid droplets 105 containing an unknown single strand DNA sample, thus binding and hybridizing the known single strand DNA to the droplets 106 containing the fluorescent reagent, intercalating the fluorescent reagent, when both are coincident with, and utilizing the appearance of change in the fluorescence intensity in response to the state of the coincidence to discriminate the hybridization state.
