PURPOSE: To obtain a high-performance dental material having excellent packing properties, low shrink characteristics, wear resistance, abrasion, rigidity, transparency, etc., mixed with spherical polymer beads having specific particle diameters into which inorganic fine particles having specific particle diameters are uniformly dispersed.
CONSTITUTION: A dental material is mixed with spherical polymer beads having 1-500μm average particle diameter into which inorganic fine particles having 1-100μm average particle diameter are uniformly dispersed. The dental material is further blended with a polymerizable compound containing at least one (meth) acryloyloxy group in the molecule and a polymerization initiator to provide a dental material. Inorganic fine particles obtained by modifying the surface of a metal oxide sol (especially preferably colloidal silica or zirconia sol) as a starting substance with a hydrolyzate of a silane compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are 1-10C hydrocarbon group; R3 is H or 1-10C hydrocarbon residue; (a) and (b) are 0-3; (c) is 4-a-b and is 1-4) are preferable as the inorganic fine particles.
