To precisely and uniformly coat the surface of a film sheet with the proper quantity of chemicals as for a correcting method by which the front surface of the film sheet of a negative film or a positive film is coated with the prescribed chemicals in a photoengraving process and the unnecessary part of the image of the film is eliminated and a correcting tool set used for this method.

This method is constituted of a chemicals impregnating process that a continuous bubbly coating part 10 with which the chemicals coating tool 1 is provided is impregnated with the chemicals, a chemicals coating process that the front surface of the film sheet is coated with the chemicals with which the coating part 10 is impregnated and a rubbing process that the part of the front surface of the film sheet coated with the chemicals is rubbed by an closed cellular rubbing part 20 with which a rubbing tool 2 is provided. By adjusting the force of the tool 1 for pressing the coating part 10 to the film sheet, the quantity of the chemicals with which the coating part 10 is impregnated and which oozes out on the film sheet can be adjusted. Thus, the sheet can be surely coated with the quantity of the chemicals corresponding to the range of the image which is desired to be eliminated.
