Abstract:

To enable simple and accurate setting in setting an appropriate control parameter according to paper type.

A setting panel 60 is provided in a paper supply tray 24 and preset paper type for which the appropriate parameter is already set can be selected by sheet switches 62A to 62C, 64A to 64F. Furthermore, in an image forming apparatus, the control parameter carrying out the appropriate image forming control for the arbitrary paper type can be set, the paper type can be registered for each paper supply tray as a custom paper type and the sheet switch used for the selection of the custom paper type is set when the custom paper type is registered. Thus, the selection of the custom paper type can be carried out in the setting panel of the paper supply tray.
