Abstract:
To perform appropriate moving image photography depending on a situation of an apparatus.
When moving image data encoded by an encoding section and stored in a ring buffer is written in an external storage medium, a write-in bit rate is calculated (a step S21e-5), and time to ring buffer depletion is calculated based on the bit rate (a step S21e-6). When the time is short ("YES" in a step S21e-7), the encoding section is made to lower moving image bit rate (a step S21e-21). In addition, it may be informed that the time is short.
