PURPOSE: To provide high corrosion resistance, no rusting and excellent sliding by providing a zinc-aluminum alloy plated layer on the surface of an inside wire in a control cable.
CONSTITUTION: An inside wire 1a is formed by twisting seven element wires 11 into a strand 12 and then twisting seven strands 12 together. A control cable is made by a combination of the inside wire and a conduit tube 2 provided with an outer spring 3. Zinc-aluminum alloy plated layers are provided for respective element wires 11. It is preferable to form the inside wire 1a out of the element wire 11 finished into a given diameter by plating the element wire into a larger bus bar than the final diameter and expanding it. When the wire is expanded after plating, the surface of the wire becomes smooth, thus especially sliding being improved. Aluminum gives corrosion resistance and sliding quality to a plating film.
