Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the join processing method which detects a combination of division units, clearly judged not to meet joint conditions from division definitions, and removes it from process objects as to the join process of a relational data base where a table is divided and stored.
CONSTITUTION: When the joint process under specific comparison conditions is performed as to specific tables of the relational data base where the table is divided and stored as plural division units, all combinations of division units between the specific tables are found (1). When the column of a division key is included in a column specified in the comparison conditions, a combination of division key sets where all division keys belonging to division key sets do not meet the comparison conditions are extracted (2 and 3) and the join process is performed, combination by combination (4), as to combinations of division units except the combinations of division units corresponding to the combination of the extracted division key sets.
