An LCD displays a plurality of user names and a plurality of product names. An input operating unit receives a desired user name from among the plurality of user names displayed by the LCD, selects user name information, receives a desired product name from among the plurality of product names displayed by the LCD, and selects product name information. A control means synthesizes the user name information and the product name information selected by the input operating unit, and creates print information. A printing unit prints the desired user name and the desired product name on the label in accordance with the print information created by the control means. By virtue of this configuration, the items displayed by the LCD are only the user names or the product names, and the items for selecting user names and producer names can be eliminated as compared with conventional cases. This facilitates producers to find desired items, and desired characters and numbers can be printed on the label by the simple operation. In an operation example of a label printer 100, in step ST1, a CPU 80 reads producer name information from a RAM 82 and causes an LCD 75 to display a list file F1 of the producer.
