Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably maintain an attitude of a detection section while facilitating attachment/detachment of the detection section detecting a position in a scanning direction of a carriage to/from the carriage.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device 1 comprises: a carriage 6 comprising a head 4 discharging liquid and being constituted so as to be movable in a scanning direction B; a scale section 18 formed with a scale 18a in the scanning direction B; a detection section 19 reading out the scale 18a and detecting a position in the scanning direction B of the carriage 6; and a holding section 16 holding the detection section 19 and being detachably provided on the carriage 6 from a direction in a discharge direction of the liquid from the head 4. The holding section 16 includes: an upstream side fixed section 16j fixed to the carriage 6 at a position closer to an upstream side in the discharge direction than the detection section 19; and a downstream side fixed section 16i fixed to the carriage 6 at a position closer to a downstream side in the discharge direction than the detection section 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
