Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber comspn. which is excellent in static and dynamic friction characteristics and in abrasion resistance and has a long life by compounding an org. synthetic rubber, a tetrafluoroethylene resin with a carbonaceous material stuck into the at the resin surface, and a spherical graphite.
CONSTITUTION: This comspn. comprises 10 pts.wt. an org. synthetic rubber (e.g. an isoprene rubber) with a mol.wt. of about 100,000-500,000, 10-140 pts.wt tetrafluoroethylene resin with a carbonaceous material (e.g. graphite) stuck into the resin at the resin surface (e.g. one obtd. by coprecipitating the resin with the carbonaceous material when the emulsion polymn. is completed and then coagulating, washing, and drying the coprecipitate), and 5-80 pts.wt. spherical graphite (e.g. one obtd. by reacting a phenol resin with paraform in the presence of a catalyst to give a spherical polymer and baking and pulverizing the polymer). The compsn. may further contain a reinforcing agent, a curing aid, an accelerator, a platicizer, an antioxidant, a curing agent, a softener, a flame retardant, a colorant, etc.
