PURPOSE: To provide a main nozzle which optimizes an air-jet for conveying weft to a shed.
CONSTITUTION: In the main nozzle for the air-jet loom, a mixer tube 5 provided with a distributing ring 8 having blowing slots 9 which are annularly arranged is inserted into an outer casing 1 which is provided with a duct 2 for introducing compressed air and a mixing chamber 3. An annular distributing chamber 10 is formed on the upstream side of the distributing ring 8 between the outer casing 1 and the mixer tube 5, and an annular accelerating chamber 11 consisting of the conical wall whose outer wall 13 has the taper inclination 12 of 12° to 16°, preferably 15° and whose inner wall 15 has the taper inclination 14 of 4° to 8°, preferably 7° is formed on the downstream side thereof. The compressed air introduced from the duct 2 for introducing compressed air through the distributing ring 8 is supplied into the mixing chamber 3, an energy loss of the air-jet is minimized and energy is efficiently transferred to the weft 4 to be conveyed.
