PURPOSE: To remove a minute amount of water, malodor, color and the like of dry cleaning efficiently by drying SHIRASU (a volcanic ash) at the temperature of 200W400°C, thereby dehydrating, then cooling down and forming a dehumidifying material.

CONSTITUTION: After SHIRASU is dried in a tank at the high temperature of 200W400°C to remove the water, the same is cooled down to provide a dehumidifying material. When using said dehumidifying material, for instance, the inside of container for dry cleaning is divided with a wall constituted of fine mesh net, and in one section of the container dry cleaning is put,while in another section the dehumidifying material is enclosed. As a result, the remaining moisture is completely absorbed by the dehumidifying material to finish a good dry cleaning without using costly imported articles and make a good effect for deodorizing and decoloring.
