Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten the manufacturing time for a wheel made of a light alloy by forming a disk part by a metallic die, and also, pressurizing and spreading the outside peripheral surface corresponding to a rim by a forming roller.
CONSTITUTION: A disk part is formed by pressurizing a disk corresponding part 11 of a stock 10 to be worked, in a state that first metallic die 3a for allowing an outer rim and the outside surface of a disk part to conform to each other, and a second metallic die 3b for conforming to an inner rim and the inside surface of the disk part are rotated synchronously in the same direction. Simultaneously therewith, or thereafter, a rim part is formed by pressurizing and spreading a rim corresponding part 12 against the outside peripheral surface of these metallic dies by using a forming roller 4. In such a way, from the stock 10 to be worked, which can be subjected to plastic working, a light alloy wheel having a disk part having the rugged outside surface and a rim part continued to its outside peripheral can be formed integrally by decreasing the number of times of use of a metallic die, and also, shortening the time required for manufacture.
