Abstract:
To provide a sustained release agent type matrix tablet which can perfectly cover 24 hours, maintain high concentration peak values in plasma after each administration, ensure sufficient concentration in blood between two administrations, thereby maintain the efficacy of trimetazidine, maintain the energy metabolisms of cells exposed to hypoxic or ischemic states, and avoid the lowering of ATP concentrations in cells.
The matrix tablets for the sustained release of trimetazidine or one of its salts, in which the sustained release is controlled by the use of a cellulose-derived polymer, and a method for producing the same.
