Abstract:
To shorten a time necessary for copying the data stored in a short-term nonvolatile memory to a long-term nonvolatile storage medium.
The system and method of backingup the data of a redundant data storage system are provided. In one embodiment, a primary controller copies a first data block from a primary storage unit to a primary backup storage unit by using a primary address designating sequence started from a first starting address, and a secondary controller copies a second data block from a secondary storage unit to a secondary backup storage unit by using a secondary address designating sequence started from the first starting address, approximately simultaneously with the copying operation by the primary controller.
