Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate at low cost a signal the frequency of which stabel with respect to temperature.
SOLUTION: An oscillator 12 generates a first signal, and an oscillator 14 generates a second signal whose frequency has more temperature dependence than that of the oscillator 12 and is higher than the frequency of the first signal. A calibration module 16 obtains a calibration coefficient F1 that relates the oscillated frequency of the first signal to an oscillated frequency of a reference signal at a reference temperature and counts the oscillated frequencies of the first and second signals over the same period and compares the counts to obtain a calibration coefficient F2. The module 16 multiplies the coefficients F1, F2, to obtain an overall calibration coefficient Fcal and calibrates the frequency of the second signal based on the coefficient Fcal.
