Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the state of glass in a smelting tank to a uniform condition by adjusting the liquid level in a smelting tank for melting a glass material according to the flow-out of the glass.
SOLUTION: A 2nd smelting tank 6 for melting charged glass material is connected to a 1st smelting tank 4 for melting the molten glass flowing out from a flow-out part 4a. The molten glass is supplied from the 2nd smelting tank 6 to the 1st smelting tank 4 by varying the liquid level of the 2nd smelting tank 6 and the liquid level of the 1st smelting tank is adjusted according to the flow-out of the glass from a flow-out part to constantly keep the distance (depth of the glass) between the glass flow-out part 4a and the level of the molten glass 10A within a prescribed range.
