In this method for manufacturing, a rectangular metal plate is formed into a ring by plane bending, an outer circumferential part of a side surface of the ring-shaped metal plate is processed into an arc shape, a cutting edge is pressed to a roughly center part of the arc shape to cut an arc-shaped part of the ring-shaped metal plate in the plate thickness direction, it is processed to make the cut part flat, and a friction member is fixed to or integrated with the flat part. Otherwise, a long metal plate is formed into a spiral metal plate by continuous plane bending, it is cut at a part where a single ring-shaped metal plate is obtained, lateral deflection is corrected, an outer circumferential part of a side surface of the ring-shaped metal plate is processed into an arc shape, and above processes are conducted.
