Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a ceramic matrix composite material.

In the method for manufacturing the ceramic matrix composite, a coating film having a layer (20) of boron nitride, a layer (30) of silicon-doped boron nitride, a layer (40) of silicon nitride and a layer (50) of carbon is vapor-deposited. Further, coated ceramic fiber tows are assembled into a plurality of plies of ceramic cloth. Further, the plies of ceramic cloth are stacked into an article form. Further, the article form is made compact by using a material selected from the group consisting of ceramic particulates, ceramic precursor resins, and combinations thereof and a method selected from the group consisting of slurry casting, resin transfer molding, vacuum impregnation, and combinations thereof. Further, the article form is infiltrated with at least silicon for forming a ceramic matrix composite material article with a substantially continuous matrix.
