Abstract:
To provide a method for marking characters/symbols or the like on a plated surface by radiating laser beams on the metal plated surface provided on a surface of a plastic-made key top used for a cellular phone or the like to form a planar assembly of a large number of very small recesses (craping) on the surface of an irradiated part.
In this method, laser beams of the wavelength of 532 nanometer to be obtained by extracting second higher harmonic of the Nd:YAG laser, or laser beams of the wavelength of 355 nanometer to be obtained by extracting third higher harmonic of the Nd:YAG laser are used for the marking laser beams.
