Abstract:

To provide a naphthyridine derivative having acyl-CoA: cholesterol acyl transferase(ACAT)-inhibiting activities, and useful as a therapeutic agent of hyperlipemia and a therapeutic agent of arteriosclerosis, and further to provide a method for producing a synthetic intermediate of the derivative, and the synthetic intermediate in the production method.

This method for producing 3-amino-1,8-naphthyridin-2(1H)-one derivative represented by general formula (4) is characterized in that a compound represented by general formula (1) is reacted with a compound represented by general formula (2) to provide a compound represented by general formula (3), and the nitro group of the compound of general formula (3) is reduced (in the formulas, Y is a phenyl or a substituted phenyl group; X is a leaving group; R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group).
