To provide a method for producing a polymer having an alicyclic structure without causing coloration or molecular weight degradation of the polymer, with little contamination by foreign matter, and capable of recollecting the polymer having an alicyclic structure with a simple device.

This method for producing a polymer having an alicyclic structure comprises the steps of depositing a polymer by contacting a reacted solution containing the polymer having an alicyclic structure with steam, and drying the deposited polymer to reduce the content of volatile components to 500 ppm or lower in the polymer.
