Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for storing and treating a mango in which the mango is enabled to stay in a state being desirable to eat.SOLUTION: A method for treating a mango comprises a step of storing the mango in a modified atmosphere package, and exposing the mango in the modified atmosphere package in an atmosphere containing a 1-methyl cyclo-propene compound of the concentration of 100 ppb or more from the outside of the modified atmosphere package. In the method, the modified atmosphere package is constructed by films with micropore opened so that an average diameter of holes may contain the holes from 5 micrometers to 500 micrometers, the transmittance of carbon dioxide passing the modified atmosphere package is 1200 or more in the unit of cubic centimeters per one day per 1 kilogram of the mango, and the quality of the mango is improved by the increase of the hardness of flesh.SELECTED DRAWING: None
