To provide a method of vulcanizing a pneumatic tire which does not damage the inner liner, while retaining the productivity, in vulcanizing and molding an unvulcanized tire whose inner liner is formed with a thermoplastic resin composition or a thermoplastic elastomer composition.
Unvulcanized tire T having an inner liner composed of a thermoplastic resin composition or a thermoplastic elastomer composition is inserted into a vulcanization mold 10 in which an upper mold 11 and a lower mold 12 are arranged between an upper platen 1 and a lower platen 2 and vulcanized by expanding a bladder 16 inserted into the inside of the tire through forcing of a heating fluid. The temperature of the inside of the bladder 16 is at least 5C lower than the melting point of the material of the inner liner, and the temperature of the platens 1 and 2 are modified between the former and the latter half of the vulcanization molding cycle, i.e., the temperature of the platens is 15C higher than the melting point in the former half, and 5C lower than the melting point in the latter half of the vulcanization.
