Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a control method for air-conditioner in which a compressor, an outdoor fan, and an outdoor unit are controlled by means of a single microcomputor while simplifying power supply circuit and control circuit of the outdoor unit.
CONSTITUTION: Voltage of a commercial power supply 2 is converted through a power supply circuit 3 into a predetermined DC voltage which is fed, as an input power supply voltage, to a first drive circuit 4 for an induction motor 1 and a second drive circuit 12 for a brushless motor 8. A rotor position detection signal is fed from the brushless motor 8 to a microcomputor 18 which then produces driving signals for turning respective switching elements in upper and lower arms in a drive circuit 12 ON/OFF based on the position detection signal thus received. ON part of the driving signal for each switching element in at least one of the upper and lower arms of the drive circuit 12 is then chopped and a driving signal is outputted from each switching element of the circuit 12 which controlled ON/OFF ratio of chopping variably thus controlling the motors 8, 1 while allowing control of outdoor unit.
