Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the new compound which has excellent antibacterial activity to penicillin-resistant staphylococci and is useful as antibiotics.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I [R1-R3, R5 are each H, halogen, hydroxyl, 1-4C alkyl or the like; R4 is hydroxyl or 1-8C alkyloxy; A, A' are each H, alkali or alkaline earth metal, Mg, amino-containing organic base or the like; R6 is quinolinium, 4-(methylthio)pyridinium or the like], e.g. an internal salt of [6R-[3(E),-6α,7β(Z)]]-1-[3-[7-[[2-amino-4-thiazolyl] [[carboxy-(2,3- difluoro-4,5dihydroxyphenyl) methoxylimino] acetyl]amino]-2-carboxy-8-oxo5- thiano-azabicyclo[4,2,0]-2-octene-3-yl]-2-propenyl:]imidazo[1,2-a]pyridinuim, is obtained by eliminating the protective group from the compound of formula II.
