To obtain a photographic element having excellent antistatic property, excellent scratching resistance and resistance to ferrotype, and resistance to surface fog, resistance to formation of scum and resistance to blisters in photographic processes.
This photographic element consists of a supporting body having a front face and a back face, at least one silver halide emulsion layer laminated on the front face of the supporting body, and a protective overcoat layer on the back face of the supporting body. The protective overcoat layer consists of a polymer mixture of a first vinyl polymer having 5 to 100 acid value and a second vinyl polymer having 70 to 250 acid value, with the acid value of the second polymer larger than the acid value of the first polymer.
