Abstract:

To enhance the energy quantity of a lithium secondary battery and to lengthen the cycle life.

This nonaqueous secondary battery has a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode contains a lithium-containing transition metal oxide, and the negative electrode contains a compound containing a silicon atom. Further, an expansion coefficient following lithium insertion of the negative electrode is ≥1.05 and ≤3.0.
