Abstract:
To provide a catalyst for olefin multimerization capable of achieving both selectivity and/or production efficiency of a specific olefin multimer and by-products of ethylene polymer in a form which can be easily removed, and to provide a method for producing an olefin multimer using the catalyst.SOLUTION: The catalyst for olefin multimerization comprising (A) a chromium compound, (B) an amine compound, (C) a co-catalyst and (F) a halogen-containing aryl compound is prepared so that the molar ratio [(F)/(C)] of oxygen atoms of (F) the halogen-containing aryl compound to metal atoms of (C) the co-catalyst is 0.05 to 0.9. An olefin multimerization reaction is carried out in the presence of this olefin multimerization catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: None
