To receive or transfer a can to the right or left on a bogie selectively by providing a thin and long can reciprocating base movable in the horizontal direction for a conveyance passage and is substantially integral in a rail guide device on the bogie and providing grippers which are connected with a can narrow width side, turnable in both end parts in the longitudinal direction.
An empty place 22 of a bogie 1 is aligned with the longitudinal direction 23 of a can, and a hook for connection member 25 of a front gripper 13 on an empty can 21 side of a can reciprocating base 9 is engaged with a grip 26 of the can 21. A rear gripper 14 is turned upward so that it does not act. Next, the reciprocating base 9 is moved to pull up the can 21 up to substantially a central line on the bogie 1, the gripper 13 is disconnected from the can 21 to turn it to an upward non-action position, and the rear gripper 14 is turned to an action position and is hooked to a can grip 26 to put the can at the center of the empty place 22 of a machinery by the reciprocating base 9. Consequently, it is possible to pull out one can on a front side from a dense can row and put it on the bogie.
