Abstract:
PURPOSE:To handle optical signals which have uniform characteristics over many channels by guiding the output light beam of plural optical waveguide type optical switches in an optical waveguide means or guiding the output light of the optical waveguide means in the optical switches. CONSTITUTION:A fiber coupling substrate 41 which has one optical fiber inserted and fixed in each of many optical fiber holes 44 is coupled with an optical switch substrate 42 equipped with the optical switches made of LiNbO3 opposite the optical fiber holes. The signal light which is made incident from the optical fiber 6 is turned ON or OFF selectively by the optical switch substrate 42 and its passing light signal is converged and reflected by a lens member 43 which has a curved surface with a high reflection factor and guided out through an optical fiber for output at the center part. It is therefore possible to supply light from a single light source to plural optical waveguide type optical switches or guide light from plural optical waveguide type optical switches to a single photodetecting element, and a signal error due to variance in characteristics among elements can be prevented.
