Title:
ORGANIC HALOGEN COMPOUND REMOVER AND REMOVING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001062290
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain an organic halogen compound remover capable of satisfactorily removing organic halogen compounds contained in vapor and liquid phases by incorporating silver into an inorganic compound substrate.

Silver is carried on or impregnated into a natural or synthetic inorganic compound as a substrate to obtain the objective organic halogen compound remover. The silver is not particularly limited and is concretely a slightly soluble silver compound such as silver chloride, silver borate or a thiosulfato-silver complex. The inorganic compound is not particularly limited if silver is carried or impregnated but a natural or synthetic zeolite is preferably used. In practical use, the silver-containing inorganic compound is preferably applied to a base material by mixing, impregnation, sticking or adhesion. The base material may be a resin, preferably a thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene or an inorganic material such as bentonite.
